The Oakland A's are having a total firesale. The Haren trade, the Swisher trade, the players they left on waivers (J.J. Furmaniak). I think this will help them in the long run, but right now it's going to hurt their season. If anyone can illuminate my mind on why Billy Beane made the Danny Haren trade please tell me. The Swish trade I can live with but I don't agree with the Haren trade. If anyone has something to say, speak up.

This is so far after the fact that I hope you take no insult. They got top prospects back from the Arizona Diamondbacks and they are already paying dividends. Carlos Gonzalez (the centerpiece for the A's) will be in our outfield for quite a few years at the very least. We have also replaced some of the pitching in that trade that allowed us to be able to trade away Rich Harden, Chad Gaudin, and Joe Blanton. I like you was throwing my hands up in disgust, but I trust Billy Beane. He knows what he is doing. He has to be one of the best talent evaluators in the game. He scouts other peoples farm systems better than they do. Somewhere in the A's offices they probably have top 10 lists for each MLB organizations minor league teams. Now I get frustrated, but I know he has a master plan and that we are building up to sustained excellence again. So keep the faith man, the A's will prevail.
